Taking Time Off

Since I am currently without a motorcycle and have no great passion for any bike at the moment except the ones I cannot afford I have decided to take some time off from the blog and concentrate for a while on improving my photography, maybe buy a new camera to replace my trusty Nikon CoolPix. I've been shooting pictures for about twenty five years and if I'm ever going to get better at it I need to focus on improving...no pun intended.
I am at a point in time where people (except for the fair and lovely Debbie) and machinery are more a trial than a blessing. The more I learn about humans, the better I like animals.
Until whenever I feel inspired to write about motorcycles again, ride safe and thank you for your kind attention and positive comments in the past.

I have always enjoyed reading your posts. Always a source for anything from quick chuckle to a sound belly laugh salted with seasoned experience.
Here's to you feeling like writing about motorcycles and riding them again, soon.
Best to you!
Doug - Take the time you need to find "it". We'll miss ya on the web, and await your return.
Cheers,
Lucky
Hey Doug,
Photography is a great outlet, as is writing.
I love art, and consider photography one of the best mediums for an artist to use.
Maybe you should consider doing a photo blog, instead of a moto blog for a while.
If you do, please let us know what the new blog url is so I (we) can add it to our "readers". Us moto bloggers do know there is more to life than (just) motorcycles.
I'd love to follow along!
Good luck with the photography venture, which ever way you decide to go with it.
Great picts. (I thought that squirrel was a bit fat for a AZ critter...then I saw it was a CA squirrel...figures!) Well, I have enjoyed reading your posts. I am still trying to catch up on all the older ones.
Hopefully being away will help the heart grow fonder and you will come back with renewed fire.
Wow...first we lost Crusty and now you. I respect and understand your decision, but I will miss your insight into the world of motorcycling as you see it, as well as your gentle good humor.
I hope you get another bike. I hope it's a bike you really wanted. I hope you'll come back and tell us about it.
Good luck.
Hi Doug,
Enjoy your vacation from blogging. You don't need to post this, but I posted an old picture of you on my blog, lehmanhill.blogspot.com. Thought I should warn you or let you know.
You'll get no argument from me in pursuing photography for a while. All the stuff from my Bonneville trip was shot with a Nikon D200 that I took the plunge on a year before the trip. They are oh so affordable...just think...Nikon D series...!
I've always enjoyed your blog, and the Twain quote at the bottom has never left my mind when I'm writing.
Enjoy yourself my friend!
The Beautiful thing about riding is that it never forgets... Take all the time you need, when you're ready to ride again, the road will be waiting.
Keep on Keeping on
